Ward County swings for the fences with $5.5 million ballpark renovations

MONAHANS – Ward County commissioners have approved $5.5 million in spending to renovate the county’s ball parks.

The fields are rocky and uneven, and most of the metal fencing is rusty since there haven’t been upgrades made since the ’60s.

All six fields are to be renovated, and another coach pitch field will be added. New dugouts and bleachers are also planned.

FEHR Metal Building of Seminole will handle the renovations.

Parts of the renovations could be done by September, but the entire project will likely be finished by March.
