SHERMAN-DENISON – Apartment development is booming here, with new construction equaling 33 percent of all existing units, according to RealPage.
The metro has 1,700 units underway across eight projects. To compare, DFW has 27,000 units underway, equal to 3 percent of existing units.
The spike in apartment construction is attributed to manufacturing facilities being built by Texas Instruments and Taiwanese-owned GlobiTech.
There are more than 72,000 rental units currently under construction in North Texas.
