Houston's Sunrise Lofts shines on people aging out of foster care

​HOUSTON – Sunrise Lofts, a $23.5 million multifamily community for people aging out of foster care, has opened at 3103 McKinney St.

The 89-unit complex has one-bedroom studios and two-bedroom apartments.

Amenities will include a weight room, game room, library, open pantry, bike room, and a self-improvement educational and career center.

The city contributed $1.56 million of funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Home Investment Partnership Program while the county contributed nearly $15.4 million in Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery funds, along with about $4.4 million in Home funds.​
