TEMPLE – Renewable energy company Avangrid has announced the continued construction of True North solar farm in Falls County that will help power the $800 million Meta data center in Temple.
Construction was halted in December of 2022, but Mayor Tim Davis says it will resume soon.
Avangrid said in a press release that True North is expected to create over 200 local jobs, with plans to reach commercial operations by early 2025.
Falls County Judge Jay Elliott said the farm will generate $400,000 a year, giving the county opportunities to improve roads and other public infrastructure.
