35-year-old Arlington mall being redeveloped

​​ARLINGTON – Plans for the redevelopment of the 1.5 million-sf Parks Mall have been approved and will start with converting a former Sears into one of the few Dick’s House of Sport in the country.

Dick’s Sporting Goods (DSG) is converting the 120,000-sf space into Dick’s House of Sport (DHS), while its own 82,000-sf site will be redeveloped for new retail, restaurant, entertainment, and service tenants. DHS will open by 2026, and the redevelopment of DSG will finish by 2030.

This phase will cost $45 million.

Parks Mall is the ninth most visited of Texas’ 48 malls. It is owned by Parks at Arlington LLC.
