$5M asphalt improvement project gets green light in Tyler

​​​​TYLER – The 2023 Asphalt Enhancement Project is underway after the Tyler City Council approved a $4.9 million contract with Reynolds and Kay, LTD.

The project includes 25 lane miles of pavement improvements and the repainting of traffic lane markings on city streets.

The contract also includes the installation of high-friction surface treatment on West Grande Blvd. between Gleneagles Dr. and S​hady Oaks Dr.

Funding will come from the Half-Cent Sales Tax Program, Tyler Water Utilities fund, and the Traffic Department general funds.

Construction is expected to begin in April with completion slated for January 2024.​​
