Dallas 3rd nationally in office-to-home conversions

DALLAS – Office-to-residential conversion is a current trend in commercial real estate, and Dallas is one of the nation’s top markets for it. Big D ranks behind only Washington, D.C., and New York City, according to a new report by Yardi Systems.

More than 3,100 Dallas-area apartments are expected to be carved out of old office space this year, the report says, and an additional 3,833 units are coming after this year.

Nationwide, more than 55,000 residential units are on the way this year in former office spaces around the country.
