THE WOODLANDS – A deal between Montgomery County and Howard Hughes will revitalize Grogan’s Mill Village Center at 7 Switchbud Pl and fund a new South Montgomery county library and community center.
The $16.5 million library development will be 48,000 sf, which will include a 5,000-sf ballroom, 11 rentable study rooms, full-service conference room, 100-person capacity theater-style classroom, rentable podcast room, and film-producing room.
While Howard Hughes is funding the project, Montgomery County will be responsible for any additional costs over the budgeted amount, according to the contract.
The surrounding retail centers of the 7.8-acre Village Center will also be renovated concurrently with the new facility to bring the center to Class A status.
