ROUND ROCK – A new affordable housing community is currently in the works, dubbed the Preserve at Mustang Creek.
The $88 million garden-style project will stand three stories and have 252 units, clubroom, indoor play space, outdoor playground, resort-style pool with grill stations, garages, and covered parking. A large solar carport will offset 90 to 100 percent of common electricity use.
Units are priced for affordability to households earning 30 to 60 percent of the area’s median income. There will be one to four-bedroom configurations as well as accessible units accommodating residents with various impairments.
The Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs, along with other private investors, have financed the project.
LS Black Development is the developer, Cadence McShane Construction is the general contractor, and Merriman Anderson Architects is the architect.
Construction begins this month and is scheduled for completion in September 2025.
