Austin country club getting multimillion-dollar makeover

AUSTIN – Lost Creek Country Club is undergoing a major transformation that includes a new name.

The facility, now known as Westlake Country Club, is in the midst of a multimillion-dollar revamp of the 6,623-yard, par 72-golf course.

The first phase of improvements at Westlake began in 2022 and improved the club’s tennis and racquet sports facilities. Two of the club’s existing tennis courts were turned into pickleball courts. The club’s aquatics center, poolside bar, and restaurant were updated as well.

The second phase, which is currently in process, includes a complete redesign of the greens and bunkers. Work started in December 2022 and is expected to be ready to play in November 2023. The course will also get a new irrigation system, an expanded driving range, and a new practice course.

The third and final phase of the project will include the renovation of the main clubhouse. Dining facilities, private event space, locker rooms, audio-visual equipment, family areas, parking lots, and surrounding landscape will all be improved.

As the club’s amenities improve, the cost of membership is set to rise. The membership initiation fee will be set at $100,000 in addition to monthly dues of $1,000 for full use of the club’s facilities.

The entire project is set for completion by 2025.
