McKinney historic property to become mixed-use

McKINNEY – The historic 113-year-old Cotton Mill will be redeveloped to include multifamily, office, retail, and more. Groundbreaking is set for second quarter 2024.

Plans for the 32.1-acre property at 610 Elm St. include one five-story apartment and three seven-story apartments with a total of 1,135 units. 

The seven-story buildings will have two floors of parking and five stories for living space. It will also have two four-story office buildings totaling 200,000 sf, 27 three-story townhomes, food and beverage retailers, an outdoor stage, playground, and event spaces.

The first phase of development has 10 percent of units set aside for people earning 80 percent or less of the area median income.

The 176,000-sf Cotton Mill building has remodeled areas featuring an artist studios, a ceramic studio, and art gallery, office spaces, an event hall, and coffee shop. 

Plans call for a 66,000-sf boutique hotel and restaurant.

The project, developed by Presidium Group and owned by the Casey family, will be completed between 2028 and 2030. ​
