LUND – More than 1,800 single-family homes may be coming to 570 acres this uncorporated town near Elgin, along with hundreds of multifamily units and nine acres of commercial space.
Lund Farm, from developer Blossoms Development could also have nearly 650 multifamily units, community parks, amenity center, and a possible public safety facility.
Landscape architecture firm TBG Partners and civil engineering firm BGE Inc. are also working on the project.
Developers agreed to the city’s terms at last week’s meeting. The developer will pay $3 million in development fees; contribute either $500,000 or a school site to Elgin Independent School District; donate two acres for a public safety facility; make the 100-plus acres of parks and seven miles of trails open to city residents; build infrastructure to city regulations; fund a new wastewater treatment plant; and allow the city to collect sales tax from all commercial space occupants.
