PEARLAND – McCarthy Building Companies Inc. has begun preconstruction work on the Barry Rose Water Reclamation Facility (WRF).
The project is part of Pearland’s effort to support its rapidly growing population by improving water and wastewater facilities. The new treatment facility will handle five million gallons per day.
McCarthy’s scope includes updating the 50-year-old Barry Rose existing plant, assisting with critical maintenance, and replacing mechanical components at the end of operating life to ensure efficient operation until the new facility is complete.
Additionally, the project includes the decommissioning and demolition of the nearby Longwood WRF facility.
Construction is expected to start in the beginning of 2024, with an estimated completion schedule of three and a half years.
