DALLAS-FORT WORTH-ARLINGTON – DFW ranks highest nationwide in apartment purchases for the first half of 2023, according to RealPage and MSCI Inc.
In the first half of 2023, the Metroplex had 30,000 rental unit sales, accounting for half of the area’s $8 billion total investment property purchases as well as 10 percent of total U.S. apartment purchases.
The number of units sold was twice that of second-place Houston and three times that of all other markets.
Total apartment sales were the lowest since 2011, but DFW’s decline was not as sharp.
DFW also leads in apartment construction with 70,000 units.
