UHD opens $39M Wellness & Success Center

​​​​HOUSTON – The University of Houston-Downtown has opened its Wellness & Success Center.

The 75,000-sf education facility is on the western​ edge of campus. It includes​ a three-story lobby, student lounge area, outdoor terrace, wellness suite with quiet spaces, rock-climbing wall,  demonstration kitchen, and parking garage.

Fitness amenities include strength training and conditioning, personal workout areas and cardio equipment, group studios, three sports courts, and an elevated indoor track.

Construction began in 2020 on the site of the former Jesse H. Jones Student Life Center. 

The building was designed by the SmithGroup and HarrisonKornberg Architects and built by Vaugh Construction.
