Three Texas cities named top places for remote workers

​​​AUSTIN – Three Texas cities have landed on LawnStarter’s top ten list of 2023’s best cities for remote workers. 

Plano ranked first​, followed closely by Frisco. The North Texas cities received high marks in workspace, affordability, and earning potential. 

Austin was the only other Texas city in the top ten, ranking seventh overall. The Texas Capital was highly ranked in amenities and connectivity. ​

Six other Texas cities—No. 12 Houston, No. 15 Dallas, No. 16 San Antonio, No. 17 El Paso, No. 19 Carrollton, and No. 21 McKinney—were in the top 25. 

The rest of the top ten rankings include: 

  • No. 3 Tampa, Fla.;

  • No. 4 Atlanta;

  • No. 5 Seattle;

  • No. 6 Durham, N.C.;

  • No. 8 Kansas City, Mo.;

  • No. 9 Jacksonville, Fla.; and 

  • No. 10 Charlotte, N.C. 

To determine the rankings, LawnStarter compared the 200 biggest U.S. cities and scored them on seven metric groups: financial incentive, earning potential​​, workspace, connectivity, affordability, safety, and amenities.
