RICHMOND – Johnson Development Services has purchased 117.2 acres for an extension of its Candela community.
The extension will allow the addition of 346 homes on 40-, 50-, and 60-ft homesites. The community will include cul-de-sac streets, a community lake, 2.3-acre park, and dog park.
Home sales in the extension will begin in mid-to-late 2023.
The site along FM 359 just south of Settegast Ranch Rd. was purchased from two separate owners. R&W Real Estate Inc. brokered the deal.
Current builders in Candela include Coventry Homes, Perry Homes, and Westin Homes. Prices start in the mid $300,000s.
Hundreds of homes have already been sold since late 2020. Builders will begin offering 70-ft homesites soon.
Candela’s amenities include meeting space, a courtyard with large fire pit, fitness center, resort pool, yoga lawn, splash pad, playground, and pavilion. An elementary school for the Lamar Consolidated Independent School District will open for the 2023-24 school year.
