NEW BRAUNFELS – Locally based SouthStar Communities moving forward with its 1,880-acre master-planned community in northern Comal County.
The project is within the city’s extraterritorial jurisdiction, However, a recent development agreement gives the city some oversight in the planning, permitting, and public park operation.
Called Mayfair, the mixed-use project will include:

nearly 6,000 homes,

over 70 acres of commercial property,

over 120 acres of mixed-use development,
-
more than 300 acres of public parks,

a 160-acre employment park, and
-
four new Comal Independent School District schools.
Construction begins this year, and the first homes will deliver in 2023.
Mayfair is expected to generate 2,000 permanent jobs over the next 15 years.
