DALLAS-FORT WORTH-ARLINGTON – The metro’s year-over-year home sales last month increased for the first time in two years. This was the second biggest gain nationwide, according to Re/Max LLC.
Home sales increased 14.2 percent year-over-year with 5,208 houses sold in January. New listings in DFW last month were up 40 percent from the same time last year with the median sale price increasing by 1.6 percent.
Salt Lake City was first nationally with a 20 percent gain. Total home sales nationwide increased 2.5 percent year-over-year with a 21.5 percent increase in new listings.
