DFW second nationally in home sales growth

DALLAS-FORT WORTH-ARLINGTON – The metro’s year-over-year home sales last month increased for the first time in two years. This was the second biggest gain nationw​​ide, according to Re/Max LLC.

Home sales increased 14.2 percent year-over-year with 5,208 houses sold in January. New listings in DFW last month were up 40 percent from the same​​ time last year with the median sale price increasing by 1.6 percent.

Salt Lake City was first nationally with a 20 percent gain. Total home sales nationwide increased 2.5 percent year-over-year with a 21.5 percent increase in new listings.​
