ARLINGTON – The city council has approved plans for a 500-room hotel with a minimum of 25,000 sf of meeting space.
Located on I-30, the 14-acre project will replace the existing 19-story Sheraton Arlington Hotel. The $410 million hotel will begin construction next year following the existing building’s demolition.
New York-based developer Loews Hotels and Co. is receiving $40 million in development costs and annual grants totaling $57 million over 25 years from the city.
The project will produce $3.1 billion in economic output over 30 years for the city, Tarrant County, and Arlington ISD.
