Preserving historic bank building part of downtown Garland redevelopment

GARLAND – The city is working with GroundFloor Development to turn a six-acre block into a mixed-use project as part of the historic downtown renovation plan.

The project, called The Draper, will have retail and office space, 155 apartments, and 25 townhomes.

This includes the redevelopment of the 57-year-old, five-story Garland Bank and Trust office building at 111 South Garland Ave. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
