COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M University System has broken ground on a $13 million Animal Reproductive Biotechnology Center at its flagship university’s RELLIS campus.
The 12,600-sf center will have labs, holding and handling spaces for animals, chutes for specimen collection, and stanchion space for hands-on instruction.
The center aims to combine research, teaching, and AgriLife Extension initiatives for domestic animal production that will advance and educate students.
The facility will have in-vitro fertilization embryo-based labs and gene-editing-based labs.
The center is expected to be completed in 2025.
