$15.8M in TxDOT funding means good news for Alamo City cyclists

SAN ANTONIO – The city will receive more than $15.8 million in funding through TxDOT’s Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside grant to develop new bicycle lanes in the heart of the city.

The project will include the construction of one mile of two-way bike lanes from Flores St. to I-37. 

The new divided lanes will travel a route that includes Dolorosa, Market, Alamo and Commerce streets. It will also include upgraded traffic signals and signage, as well as new bicycle and pedestrian safety lighting.

Construction is slated to begin in fiscal year 2026.​
