DFW among 20 percent of U.S. metros without increasing home prices

DALLAS-FORT WORTH-ARLINGTON – The metro saw no home price increases in the third quarter, joining only 20 percent of U.S. metros without increasing median sales prices, according to the National Association of Realtors.

The national median sales price increased 2 percent year over year to $406,900 while DFW was down 1.1 percent to $385,700.

In the third quarter, median home prices dropped by 10.3 percent for Austin; 4.8 percent for Jackson, Miss.; and 3.6 percent in Cape Coral-Ft. Myers, Fla. 

The largest nationwide increases were 18.9 percent in Fond du Lac, Wis.; 17.1 percent in Morganton, N.C.; and 15.2 percent in Oshkosh-Neenah, Wis.​
