Leander ISD schools to begin upgrade work in summer 2024

LEANDER – Over $25 million in bond funding has been released for modernization upgrades at four Leander ISD campuses in 2024.

The board of trustees approved the first guaranteed price maximums for modernization work at Bagdad Elementary, Running Brushy Middle School, Vista Ridge High School, and Cedar Park High School.

Bagdad will receive $1.61 million, Running Brushy will get $4.31 million, Vista Ridge will get $9.05 million, and Cedar Park will receive $10.92 million.

Each campus will fix roofing, elevators, air conditioning, lighting, electrical, plumbing, fire protection systems, built-in specialties, interior finishes, or furniture concerns with the money. Bagdad Elementary will also receive new playground equipment.

The money is only a fraction of what the four schools are slated to receive from a nearly $167 million bond.

Work is expected to begin in summer 2024.
