NEW BRAUNFELS – Phase one of the Zipp Family Sports Park is now underway. The park, located at Klein Rd. and FM 1044, will total around 150 acres.
The project will cost about $40.8 million and be funded by a handful of agencies including the City of New Braunfels, the New Braunfels Economic Development Corporation, the National Park Service, and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
The first phase will take an estimated 15 months and include four baseball, softball, and soccer fields; parking; and drainage improvements. Once completed, the sports park will have fields for soccer, lacrosse, baseball, softball, disc golf, pickleball, and volleyball.
The park will also have walking trails, batting cages, a splash pad, playground, picnic tables, amphitheater, and some retail amenities.
