WACO – A new $7.8 million McLennan Community College (MCC) Foundation headquarters will be built on the site of the 102-year-old Cameron House.
The new design is a single-story structure with offices, multipurpose room, courtyard, and catering kitchen space for foundation and community events and rentals. The original house’s courtyard will be retained and renovated.
Approximately $3 million has been privately donated, and the TIF Zone No. 4 has agreed to spend $1.2 million.
The three-story Cameron House was built in 1921 and has been a part of the MCC campus for most of the college’s lifetime.
HCS Inc. is the contractor. RBDR is the architect.
Construction will take roughly a year.
