SAN ANTONIO – Ten years after plans were made, the city is moving to annex 4,000 acres on the south side.
The land spans multiple propoerty lines and has many different owners. In 2014, the city struck a deal with those property owners, agreeing not to annex their land, which allowed them to remain in the city’s extraterritorial jurisdiction where its regulatory authority is limited. However, the landowners agreed that in January 2024, they would submit to the annexation.
Last week, the city planning commission voted to commence with the annexation.
