SAN MARCOS – Lantana Apartments, a housing development at 1041 Vervain Rd. that will provide income-based housing, is expected to be completed next month.
The city council approved a resolution for low-income housing tax credits with the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs, which gave Mortgage Co. LLC a $30 million Federal Housing Administration Construction Loan to build the project. The mortgage company partnered with Mission Development Group LLC on construction.
The complex, which will have eight buildings totaling 216 units, has a pickleball court, walking trails, pool, and a gym. It also has a demonstration kitchen and provides a food pantry and travel assistance for residents.
