MONAHANS – The Ward County Commissioners Court has approved $7.5 million of funding to renovate Ward Memorial Hospital, which is now over 40 years old.
All 25 patient rooms will be expanded, and a new HVAC system for better air filtration and infection control is in the works.
Ward Memorial CEO Leticia Rodriguez said this is just the first stage of a master plan that the county has for its hospital.
A little over $4 million came from grants, and the county funded the rest. The county pledged $1.5 million toward this project last year.
They expect to break ground by next month and will hopefully be completed by the end of 2024.
