River Ranch County Park opens gates after decade of preparation

LIBERTY HILL – River Ranch County Park has opened to the public after several years of planning, preparation, and construction.

Located at 194 Reveille Way, the park spans over 1,354 acres with access to the South Fork San Gabriel River toward the northeastern corner.

Amenities include camping sites, an equestrian area, a pavilion, a playground, picnic tables, restrooms, and several trails.

The park also features two massive trees: the Bell Oak and the San Gabriel Oak, both of which are estimated to be about 500 years old.

River Ranch County Park has been in the works for roughly a decade, with construction beginning in 2018. Williamson County purchased the property in 2008 with funds from a bond approved by voters in 2006. In 2019, an additional 350 acres was approved for the then 1,011-acre park.
