SAN ANTONIO – University Health is putting the finishing touches on a new Women’s and Children’s Hospital that will span 1.1 million sf in the South Texas Medical Center.
Set to open in August, the 12-story tower will have 300 beds and a Women’s Center for OB-GYN services that spans nearly 58,000 sf. It will include labor and delivery suites, a dedicated children’s emergency department, and a Level 4 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Maternity Center.
The new hospital’s NICU facilities include private rooms as well as family lounge spaces and technology allowing parents to check in on their newborn remotely.
A new parking structure and three-story attached building with pharmacy, dining, and other associated spaces are included in the $749 million expansion.
