KILLEEN – Upscale apartment complex Station42 is preparing to open at the corner of South W.S. Young Dr. and Veteran’s Memorial Blvd.
The property sits diagonal to the Rosa Hereford Killeen Community Center and park, just one of the neighborhood amenities listed on Station42’s website.
The project includes 368 apartment units with one-, two-, and three-bedroom floor plans. One-bedroom apartments start at about $1,000 per month. Amenities will include a resort-style pool, private garages, and dog park.
The $51 million complex was built to boost the economy and spur new business in downtown Killeen, which has been deteriorating for decades despite efforts from current and past city councils.
Fifty percent of its units are rate-limited to 80 percent of the area’s median income, effectively reducing rent by 20 percent for those units.
