Multi-use plans for Pearl hotel revised by parking needs

SAN ANTONIO – Oxbow Developmental Group, of Pearl owner Silver Ventures, has bought 1216 E. Euclid Ave., a lot offering the opportunity to connect the edges of the company’s multifamily, hotel, and restaurant developments in Pearl to the edges of the Tobin Hill neighborhood.

According to Oxbow’s Director of Development, Omar Gonzales, a designated parking structure is to be constructed for the developer’s hotel project at 1210 E. Elmira St., ditching the original mixed-use plan for the Euclid Ave. lot.

“It’s a complete reconfiguration,” he said in an interview with the Business Journal. “The only thing that would stay the same would be the retail on the ground floor and residential above it.”

He added that this parking solution is cheaper than their initial idea to build underground parking for the new hotel. The firm is aiming on four to six stories, the parking structure wrapped with apartments. The ground floor would have what Gonzalez describes as “neighborhood service retail.”
