Temple to open living facility for homeless population

TEMPLE – A new community in Temple, Arbor of Hope East, will provide housing for up to 170 homeless Central Texans.

Phase I will be a congregate shelter space where residents have their own bathroom but share common spaces. Separate facilities will be available for men and women, housing 50 people each.

The facility will also provide residents with resources to get back on their feet, such as job training and GED completion.

The site will be on 35 acres off Little Flock Rd. The land is still undeveloped, so there’s a lack of infrastructure for utilities. The city expects the homes to be ready for residents between December 2024 and June 2025.
