DALLAS
– A nonprofit organization broke ground on an affordable housing development on a former homeless encampment near Fair Park.
The Jeffries-Meyers development will span three square blocks. It will include 1,500- to 1,600-sf duplex units with three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and two-car garages. The first ten units will be finished by the end of 2023.
Prices range from $200,000 to $285,000 with a $1.4 million development subsidy.
The developer is the Dallas Housing Foundation, created in 2019.
