MIDLAND – Charles Hodges Developmental Services has received unanimous zoning approval from the city’s planning and zoning commissioners for a new retail and entertainment complex.
The Regional Retail District will be on more than 17 acres at SH 191 and SH 158. It is projected to cost $45 million.
The Midland Development Corp. has agreed to contribute $5 million to fund road infrastructure, including an east-west extension of Sinclair Ave. and a new north-south road, as well as drainage system.
Bass Pro Shops has confirmed it will occupy a 65,000-sf location, while two of the smaller units have already been leased out.
A 60,000-sf zone is reserved for a two-story cinema and entertainment center that includes an outdoor and event stage.
Developers have not yet released a timeline for the project.
