EL PASO — El Paso County Commissioners approved a $55 million revenue bond allowing University Medical Center (UMC) to open a new surgical hospital at the intersection of George Dieter and Physicians Drive.
UMC said services will range from endoscopic to orthopedic procedures. It will have 40 beds and a two-bay emergency department, and it will have the capacity to perform medical imaging.
The bond money will allow UMC to purchase the hospital and equipment and hire staff.
The hospital is expected to open this fall.
