Fort Worth: Putting the 'pop' in population growth

FORT WORTH – The U.S. Census Bureau’s latest population estimates show Fort Worth added more to its population than any other city nationwide between July 2021 and July 2022.

Fort Worth added 19,170 residents, making its population 956,709 and ranking it the 13th largest city in the U.S. 

Cow Town was one of five Texas cities among the 15 most populous in 2022. The list also included Houston (fourth), San Antonio (seventh), Dallas (ninth), and Austin (tenth).

Texas was the only state with more than three cities on the list of fastest population gain by numbers and by percentage of growth.

DFW was the nation’s fourth largest metro area. It added more residents than any of the cities in the top ten most populous by numbers.
