LEONARD – The city’s water treatment plant is about to get an expansion.
This expansion will treat water from the recently completed Bois d’Arc Lake, Texas’ first major reservoir to be built in more than 30 years.
The treated water will go through six pumps. The plant can process 70 million gallons per day and may expand to 280 million gallons.
The North Texas Municipal Water District owns and operates the plant west of the city. The expansion will be completed in 2028.
