HOUSTON – The Texas Department of Transportation has unveiled its construction plans for a $111.3 million project that will expand SH 99.
The first segment of the project includes widening 12 miles along the Grand Parkway from SH 249 to Kuykendahl Rd. and replacing the parkway’s grassy median with a concrete traffic barrier. The BNSF Railroad and bridge on Hufsmith-Kohrville Rd. would also be widened in the process.
The second segment of the plan is to widen the parkway from Kuykendahl Rd. to Holzworth Rd., adding another lane along the highway. The bridges along Rothwood Rd. and Union Pacific Railroad will also be widened.
