SAN MARCOS – Mission DG is partnering with the San Marcos Housing Authority on the first affordable multifamily housing project of its kind in San Marcos in more than 50 years.
The 216-unit Lantana Apartments at Rattler Rd. and South Old Bastrop Highway will have one-, two- and three-bedroom units for households earning 30 to 70 percent of the area median income.
Monthly rents will range from $553 to $1,905 depending on income level and apartment size.
Amenities will include in-unit washers and dryers, covered parking, pool, clubhouse, lounge, fitness center, pickleball court, playground, business center, grilling area, and dog park.
Community Housing Resource Partners will help residents access children’s programs, GED and English as a second language programs, computer and financial literacy courses, and career, health care, and food assistance.
Mission DG is using federal low-income housing tax credits and income averaging, with a mean of 60 percent of the area median income.
