DALLAS – The median price of a North Texas home dropped 1 percent year over year in March, marking the first price decline in the area since the pandemic.
The median price was down from $400,000 in March 2022 to $394,900 last month. However, prices are still about 40 percent more than they were three years ago.
Roughly the same number of single-family homes were sold in the area last month as a year before.
Of North Texas’ four major counties, Denton saw the biggest boost in home sales activity—16 percent more sales last year. Collin County had a 10 percent increase, but Dallas and Tarrant Counties had declines.
