KINGWOOD – Harris County Flood Control District officials are developing a $28.2 drainage project to reduce flooding around Taylor Gully.
The project will include a concrete-lined, low-flow channel within the existing channel to expand conveyance from 350 ft downstream of Creek Manor Dr. to 1,500 ft downstream of Mills Branch Dr.
The project will additionally include a 413-ft detention basin and approximately 116 acres – including 276 structures and 8 miles of roadways – will be removed from the 100-year flood plain.
The project is being funded through the districts $2.5 billion flood bond that was approved in 2018.
