CORPUS CHRISTI – Ashlar Development is developing Whitecap Preserve, an $800 million, 240-acre mixed-use project on North Padre Island.
The project will be on the site of the former Waves Resort Corpus Christi, which was once home to a Schlitterbahn waterpark, 92-room hotel, and outdoor theater. The resort was demolished last year.
Whitecap Preserve will have a hotel, marina, nature preserve, residential component, and 50 acres of commercial development.
Work will start as soon as late spring. The project will be developed in phases over several years.
