SAN ANTONIO – Local home sales dipped and the median price climbed by double digits in January 2022, according to the San Antonio Board of Realtors.
Home sales fell 1.4 percent year over year to 2,521 homes last month. However, that number is up 20.6 percent from two years earlier.
The median price increased 18.3 percent to $304,700.
In January, just over 72 percent of homes sold cost between $200,000 and $499,000, and 14.7 percent were priced below $200,000.
Inventory dropped from 1.5 months in January 2021 to 1.2 months. In January 2020, it was 3.3 months. The Texas Real Estate Research Center considers six to 6.5 months of inventory a balanced market.
In 2021, the area snapped up 37,332 homes, a 3.8 percent decrease from record-breaking 2020 but an 8 percent increase from 2019.
