Texas unemployment rate falls below 6 percent in August
AUSTIN – Texas’ seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell 0.3 percent to 5.9 percent in August, according to the Texas Workforce Commission. Texas added 39,300 nonagricultural jobs last month, marking gains in 15 of the last 16 months. Since August 2020, Texas added a total of 681,000 jobs.
