BEDFORD – City council approved a $28.8 million, five-year plan to improve streets and boost economic development.
The cost is $16.5 million for thoroughfares and $12.3 million for neighborhood streets.
The work will also include replacing water and sewer lines, sidewalks, and traffic signals.
Certificates of obligation bonds will be used to pay for thoroughfare improvements while money from the city’s budget will go toward fixing the neighborhood streets.
Some of the thoroughfares are Forest Ridge Dr., Harwood Rd., and Bedford Rd.
Road repair work should start in summer 2022.
