Houston starts on Alief Neighborhood Center and Park

​​​​​​​​​​HOUSTON – The city has started work on the $54 million Alief Neighborhood Center and Park​ off Bellaire Blvd. and Kirkwood Rd.

The 69,900-sf mixed-use center will include a health center, library, and community center. 

It will replace the old community center at 11903 Bellaire Blvd. and consolidate the nearby​ Hennington-Alief Regional Library at 7979 S. Kirkwood Rd. and the Women, Infants, and Children Center at 12600 Beechnut St. 

Oklahoma-based Manhattan Construction Co. ​is the general contractor. Locally based EYP Inc. is the designer. ​
