KILLEEN – The metro saw rising housing prices and sales at the beginning of 2020, according to Texas Realtors.
New home sales rose to 1,530 in the first quarter, a 9.1 percent increase year over year.
Median home prices increased 10.4 percent to $174,000.
Closed sales in March rose 3.7 percent year over year to 199. Housing inventory dropped from 1.7 to 1.3 months. The Real Estate Center considers six to 6.5 months of inventory a balanced market.
COVID-19’s impact on the Texas housing market will be made more apparent in the second and third quarters of the year.
